Having the ability to generate your own electricity is excellent but there will be many times when you cannot use all of the energy you have generated and so you export it into the grid. However, what if you could use a greater proportion of that energy to heat your water, thereby creating the equivalent of a solar hot water system without the need for additional panels? The Parsons Switch Pack allows you to do just that!

This fantastic technology has a multi-purpose two element immersion heater and once it has been installed by the JHS installation team, the switch will turn on the immersion heater once the PV panels are producing 1.5kW or more. This then heats the water, leaving the surplus 500W to be used elsewhere in your home or exported back to the grid. Simples!

For the Parsons Switch Pack to operate effectively, your solar PV installation must be between 2kWp and 4kWp in size, and you will need to have a tank with an immersion heater. All we will need to do is replace the existing immersion, it’s that simple!

By ordering your Parsons Switch Pack with JHS Solar Solutions, you will be able to get the whole system fitted at the same time your solar PV panels are installed. Alternatively, if you already have a solar PV system we can just install the Parsons Switch, and the dual energy tank if necessary.
