- Is the installer MCS accredited and whose name is on the certificate?
- How long has the company been in business – and when was it accredited by MCS?
- Can the company supply any reference sites?
- Will you be dealing directly with the installer or a third party?
- Will the installer be sub-contracting out any of the installation, such as roofing or electrical work?
- In whose name is the insurance for installation and electrical work?
- Is the company a member of the Renewable Energy Association (REA)?
- Does the company adhere to the Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd. (REAL) Consumer Code of Conduct?
Products
- Are all the solar products (eg. panels and inverters) used by the company MCS accredited?
- Are your panels rebranded?
- What length of product warranty is offered on the solar products (eg. panels and inverters)?
- Who will be handling any warranty issues – the installer or someone else?
- Why is the installation company recommending that particular solar product for your installation?
If you are wary of the company, the best advice we can give you is to go with your intuition. You will know the right solar PV installation for you, no matter how much searching you have to do for them – it will be worth it.
